SUMMARY:Jenny Don't & The Spurs
DESCRIPTION:Jenny Don’t & The Spurs kickdown The Aquarium doors on Saturday\, May 9th with their new pals in rana danta! \n“They put the alt back in alt country meets punk crossover.” \n7PM Doors | 7:30PM Music | 21+ Only Event\nTICKETS ON SALE NOW! https://tickets.holdmyticket.com/tickets/461783 \nJenny Don’t and the Spurs have spent over a decade forging their own path in music\, pioneering a unique brand of high-energy Country Western that captivates fans from the traditional Western scene to the raw energy of garage rock. Their captivating stage presence\, infectious enthusiasm\, and extensive discography have garnered them a global following\, leading to tours on continents rarely visited by country bands.\nJenny Don’t\, known for her strong-willed and independent nature\, embodies the authentic outlaw spirit of Country Western music. Her songwriting\, influenced by the contrasting landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and Southwestern desert\, forms the bedrock of their sound. The band skillfully merges their garage-rock origins with a distinct western flair\, characterized by driving tempos\, gritty fuzz tones\, and a high-octane\, rockin’ western delivery that sets them apart from the herd. Their music authentically captures the outlaw spirit\, with hints of gritty surf like Dick Dale\, while paying homage to classic country legends like Johnny Paycheck and George Jones.\nNow with Buddy Weeks on drums\, the band continues to showcase their resilience and fresh energy. Bass player Kelly Halliburton and lead guitarist Christopher March\, whose reverb-drenched tones echo the haunting allure of the desert night sky\, round out the core. Jenny Don’t and the Spurs are dedicated to crafting memorable and authentic music\, pulling from a variety of genres to emphasize authenticity over conformity. As Jenny says\, “We’ve got a lot of open road ahead of us.”\nMuch like the rhinestones on their custom outfits\, handcrafted by Jenny herself\, the band shines brightly\, illustrating their dedication to creating memorable and authentic music.

SUMMARY:In Lieu + Shrive w/ Crucial Tauntaun and Baltic to Boardwalk
DESCRIPTION:Fish Tank Promotions presents: \nFrom Minneapolis\, Minnesota\, In Lieu deals in bite-sized anthems\, mixing the austerity and belligerence of noise rock with the soaring tunefulness of grunge. Fronted by vocalist/guitarist Nikii Post\, the quartet crafts brief bangers out of sludgy and discordant guitars\, pummeling drums\, and spellbinding vocals. Post fully captivates with her desperate\, throaty screams\, occasionally revealing the radiant singing voice that lies behind it. \nOn Hooligan’s title track\, she bellows: “That’s why they call you a hooligan / Did you get caught cutting school again? / I’m sure they all want to be your friend / ‘Til you do something uncool again.” \n“‘Hooligan’ is simply a reminder that the concept of being ‘cool’ is always fragile\,” she explains. \nMany bands sound like they are playing a bunch of songs they wrote and rehearsed; a select few emit something so natural and confident and cohesive and convincing\, it hits more like pure communication than like songcraft. In these rare cases\, the band is one united force and the music is a matter of life or death. On Hooligan\, In Lieu presents itself as precisely this type of band. \n“We tend to lean into our most primal feelings and our music tends to remind me of an animal backed into a corner and the only option left is to bite\,” says Post. \nInterestingly\, In Lieu began as something else entirely. A gradual evolution of style\, from quiet to loud\, has brought Post to where she is today. “I started the band nine years ago and wrote all the material but was never happy with a release until this new one\,” she states. “Hooligan is the first album I’ve been proud of and it took nine years of trying. I played acoustic at first but I always knew that quiet music wasn’t going to cut it for me. Eventually\, Houdini made me want to play the way I do now. Our main influences are Melvins\, Soundgarden\, and a lot of the Amphetamine Reptile bands like Cows\, Jawbox\, Unsane\, and The Jesus Lizard.” \nIt took nine years of searching and reinvention for Post to find her sound and\, now that she has found it\, In Lieu is thriving. Twin Cities music authority Racket named the quartet as one of its “Poised to Pop” bands for 2025 and the band has become a regular name on significant shows around town – in addition to Caterwaul\, the festival co-founded by Learning Curve Records boss Rainer Fronz\, recent bills include legends such as Scream\, Soulside\, and God Bullies. — The Chain \nShrive is heavy noise rock from Minneapolis. Debut EP “Leach” out now. \nBaltic to Boardwalk is frozen tundra hardcore. \nCrucial Tauntaun will rattle your bones. \nThursday\, May 14\, 2026\nDoors 7 pm | Start 7:30 pm\n$15 (cash only\, ATM available) at the door\n21+

The concept of live drumming and electronic music production coming together in performance is not new\, but it gained widespread popularity in the mid-2000s with the emergence of a few key performers.\nOne of the earliest and most influential “Drummer vs DJ” pairs was DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) and Travis Barker of Blink-182\, known together as TRV$DJAM. The two began performing together in the early 2000s\, blending hip-hop beats\, rock anthems\, house\, and other dance music genres with live drumming in a high-energy performance that quickly gained a following. They performed at clubs\, award shows\, and music festivals worldwide drawing thousands\, and were known for their innovative mashups and remixes.\nAnother noteworthy “Drummer vs DJ” duo is the combination of DJ Jazzy Jeff and Questlove of The Roots. These two hip-hop DJs have also played many venues together around the country\, showcasing their combined expertise in turntablism\, drumming\, and musical taste. If you’ve ever had the opportunity to witness these two live\, consider yourself lucky.\nIn addition to these established pairs\, numerous other musicians and performers have adopted and continue to showcase the “Drummer vs DJ” performance style\, often collaborating in one-off duos that perform at local clubs and events worldwide. Although this performance style is not new\, our battle league brings a fresh and exciting twist to the scene\, offering a unique competitive platform for these talented artists to showcase their skills.\n———-\nHistory of Crash the Decks\nThe concept of Crash the Decks\, formerly known as Drummer vs DJ\, originated in March 2016 when farESH Brand and Loyal Order co-hosted the inaugural showcase at Spirit Lodge in Pittsburgh\, PA. This event marked a milestone in Spirit’s history\, reaching full capacity on a Sunday for the first time. Over the next two years\, farESH Brand organized the event 12 more times in Pittsburgh\, transforming it into a battle seeing Giuseppe Capolupo and DJ Red becoming our first ever Drummer vs DJ Champions. We then expanded the battle into a year-long tournament across four dates in 2018. The duo DJ ADMC and Dylan Wood successfully defended their champion title four times and emerged as the winners of the first-ever Drummer vs DJ Tournament held at Spirit Hall.\nAfter a hiatus in 2019 and a planned return in 2020 that was unfortunately halted by the COVID-19 pandemic\, farESH Brand ceased operations between 2018 and 2023\, leading to the closure of its online shop. However\, co-founder Ryan “RB” Brown had established Make Sure You Have Fun™ in 2017\, which absorbed the event concept\, underwent a rebranding\, and repackaged it. As the concept evolved\, it adopted the name “Crash the Decks.”\nIn 2023\, Make Sure You Have Fun™ hosted the first Crash the Decks: Drummer vs. DJ Battle Exhibitions in Pittsburgh\, PA; Fargo\, ND; and New Haven\, CT\, under its new name\, drawing hundreds of curious and excited fans from across the country. In 2024\, the quest to find the world’s best Drummer vs. DJ duo expanded\, with battles held again in the original cities while also adding Hartford\, CT\, and Washington\, D.C.\, setting the stage for the inaugural Crash the Decks National Tournament in 2025.\nAt the start of 2025\, thirty-two teams across four cities—Pittsburgh\, PA; New Haven\, CT; Hartford\, CT; and Fargo\, ND faced off in their local tournament brackets throughout the year\, advancing to win their hometown CTD Championship and earn a shot to compete in the league’s Crash the Decks National Championship Round in Pittsburgh\, PA. Our four city champions went head-to-head in September in an amazing final round\, where Villainous Tempo claimed the league’s first-ever National Title.\nWhether you’re a long-time fan or new to the battle league \, our events promise to convert you into a Crash the Decks enthusiast. Don’t miss out on the excitement – be a part of the largest tournament in our history and witness the world’s best Drummer vs DJ duos in action.\n———-\nFollow Crash the Decks\n∞ https://crashthedecks.com\n∞ https://twitter.com/crashthedecks\n∞ https://instagram.com/crashthedecks\n∞ https://twitch.tv/crashthedecks\n∞ https://facebook.com/crashthedecks\n∞ https://youtube.com/@crashthedecks\n———-\nFollow MSYH.FM\n» https://MSYH.FM\n» https://www.patreon.com/msyhfm\n» https://twitter.com/MSYHFM\n» https://instagram.com/MSYH.FM\n» https://mixcloud.com/MSYHFM\n» https://facebook.com/MSYH.FM\n———-\nFollow Make Sure You Have Fun™\n∞ https://MakeSureYouHaveFun.com\n∞ https://twitter.com/MakeSureYouHave\n∞ https://instagram.com/MakeSureYouHaveFun\n∞ https://facebook.com/MakeSureYouHaveFun\n———-\nDISCLAIMER: By attending this event\, you grant Make Sure You Have Fun™\, Crash the Decks and its affiliated parties the right to capture and utilize your image and/or likeness in any photography or videography taken during the event. Hailing from the Pacific Northwest\, the band quietly released their debut album\, Devoid of Light\, in 2016 and through word of mouth quickly built from there: here was BLACK METAL writ large\, classic and uncompromising but brimming with power\, soul\, and artistry\, and all without bluster and bathos. UADA‘s debut album surely expanded the lexicon of the melodic black metal idiom\, and the underground took notice. \nTwo years later came Cult of a Dying Sun\, whereby the band further perfected their craft and compellingly took to the stage\, their performances garnering as much acclaim as their recordings. During all this\, more than the underground started to take notice; the name Uada was on the tongues of folks usually reticent to black metal. \nIn 2020\, almost effortlessly\, Uada fully perfect their craft and delivered Djinn. Simply titled but by no means simple in construction nor execution\, Djinn builds upon the increasingly ambitious songwriting of its no-less-considerable predecessor\, but pushes their dazzling artistry into nearly Technicolor landscapes of the Beyond. \nOut of the pandemic darkness\, UADA resumed live fire to play European Club and Festival shows during summer 2022.\n\n2023 saw the release of their fourth full-length\, Crepuscule Natura\, accompanied by a European tour with label colleagues AFSKY. The album connected seamlessly to the previous releases\, once again foregrounding UADA’s strongest traits: hooks\, leads\, blasts\, and surging melodies balanced by what can only be described as perfectly measured aggression.\n\n2024 and 2025 brought further touring while the band quietly prepared the announcement of their fifth album\, Interwoven. Set for release on April 10\, 2026\, Interwoven was something of a curveball\, surprising fans and revealing a different facet of UADA. Following the acoustic versions of ‘The Purging Fire’ and their cover of Nirvana’s ‘Something in the Way\,’ Interwoven was revealed as a full acoustic album extending beyond the traditional boundaries of black metal.\n\nParallel to the announcement of Interwoven\, UADA is also set to tour across North America and Europe to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of their debut album\, including a special full-length performance of Devoid of Light.

SUMMARY:Reverend Horton Heat *LOW TICKET WARNING*
DESCRIPTION:Reverend Horton Heat & Surfrajettes comes to The Aquarium on Friday\, June 19. Local presale runs tomorrow\, February 4 from 10AM-10PM using code FREAKOUT at → https://bit.ly/3ZeT6Ly. Tickets on sale Thursday\, February 5th. \n21+ | Doors at 7PM | Show at 8PM \nREVEREND HORTON HEAT \nLoaded guns\, space heaters\, and big skies. Welcome to the lethal littered landscape of Jim Heath’s imagination. True to his high evangelical calling\, Jim is a Revelator\, both revealing & reinterpreting the country-blues-rock roots of American music. He’s a time-travelling space-cowboy on an endless interstellar musical tour\, and we are all the richer & “psychobillier” for getting to tag along. \nSeeing REVEREND HORTON HEAT live is a transformative experience. Flames come off the guitars. Heat singes your skin. There’s nothing like the primal tribal rock & roll transfiguration of a Reverend Horton Heat show. Jim becomes a slicked-back 1950′s rock & roll shaman channeling Screamin’ Jay Hawkins through Buddy Holly\, while Jimbo incinerates the Stand- Up Bass. And then there are the “Heatettes”. Those foxy rockabilly chicks dressed in poodle-skirts and cowboy boots slamming the night away. It’s like being magically transported into a Teen Exploitation picture from the 1950′s that’s currently taking place in the future.\nListening to the REVEREND HORTON HEAT is tantamount to injecting pure musical nitrous into the hot-rod\nengine of your heart. The Reverend’s commandants are simple. And no band on this\, or any other\, planet rocks harder\, drives faster\, or lives truer than the Reverend Horton Heat. These “itinerant preachers” actually practice what they preach. They live their lives by the Gospel of Rock & Roll. \nFrom the High-Octane Spaghetti-Western Wall of Sound in “Big Sky” — to the dark driving frenetic paranoia of “400 Bucks” – to the brain-melting Western Psychedelic Garage purity of “Psychobilly Freakout” — The Rev’s music is the perfect soundtrack to the Drive-In Movie of your life. Jim Heath & Jimbo Wallace have chewed up more road than the Google Maps drivers. For twenty- five Psychobilly years\, they have blazed an indelible\, unforgettable\, and meteoric trail across the globe with their unique blend of musical virtuosity\, legendary showmanship\, and mythic imagery. \nTHE SURFRAJETTES \nThe Surfrajettes are a four-piece instrumental combo from Toronto\, ON\, Canada. Since forming in late 2015\, the band has charmed audiences with their clever mix of psychedelic rock and reverb-drenched surf music\, sky-high beehives\, go-go boots\, and eyeliner as thick as their guitar strings. \nThe band achieved viral online notoriety from their home-made\nperformance videos and their feature by Norman’s Rare Guitars in LA. The debut 45 single “Party Line / Toxic” released late 2018 on Hi-Tide Recordings to immediate success. The band has toured extensively in its support\, including performances on The Beach Boys Cruise\, The Melissa Etheridge Cruise\, at Sea.Hear.Now\, Nashville Boogie\, Wild O Fest in Mexico City\, The Surf Guitar 101Convention\, Tiki Oasis & Hi Tide Summer Holiday: Asbury Park. \nThey spent the rest of 2020 and most of 2021writing and recording their debut LP “Roller Fink” from Hi-Tide Recordings / Virgin Music\, that released in 2022. Amidst touring throughout the last few years in Canada\, the U.S.A\, and Europe\, they wrote their highly anticipated second LP\, “Easy as Pie”\, which released in October\, 2025. \nThe Surfrajettes are guitarists Shermy Freeman and Nicole Damoff\, bassist Abby Jo Powell\, and drummer Annie Lillis. When not on tour\, the group is busy woodshedding in their secret beach hut\, sewing new miniskirts\, debating vintage gear\, and daydreaming about performing in a Quentin Tarantino movie.

SUMMARY:Meltt
DESCRIPTION:Meltt at The Aquarium on Tuesday\, August 18th! \nTickets on sale Thursday\, April 9th at 11am!!! \nMeltt’s upcoming third album is the culmination of everything the Vancouver indie-pop quartet have accomplished so far\, all the while pushing their sound in new and exciting directions. True to its title\, Pathways finds Chris Smith [lead vocals\, guitar\, bass\, keys]\, Jamie Turner [drums\, percussion]\, James Porter [guitar\, keys\, bass\, vocals]\, and Ian Winkler [bass\, keys\, guitar] at multiple forks in the road and deciding to take all of them\, submerging their sound in new rippling textures while still retaining the warm\, textured glow that their music’s contained since their debut EP Visions in 2017. \nThematically\, Pathways approaches what Winkler refers to as “four men approaching their 30s and figuring out their paths and lives.” Big topics abound\, from relationships and the aftermath of loss to the strange and uneasy feeling that accompanies navigating the modern world at large. “Our tone is usually pretty optimistic and hopeful\, but this time we let some darkness in\,”Porter says. “There are so many things we experience individually\, but when we get in the studio\, it’s clear that we’re on a journey together.” \nWhether you’ve been with them since the beginning or are joining them at this very juncture\, Pathways will make you thankful that you’re along for the journey.

SUMMARY:Jade Presents: Ben Chapman
DESCRIPTION:Ben Chapman comes to The Aquarium on Sunday\, August 8th. Tickets on sale → https://tickets300.com/event/2026-ben-chapman-fargo/\n21+ | Doors 7PM | Show at 8PM\n\nBen Chapman is a road warrior who has spent the previous three years in a whirlwind of activity — writing songs for friends like Hayes Carll\, Brent Cobb\, and Marcus King; making his Grand Ole Opry debut; and releasing three acclaimed albums of country-fried funky-tonk\, but nothing could have prepared him for what 2025 would bring him. His new record Feet on Fire captures that period of wild transition\, with songs inspired by Chapman’s marriage to fellow songwriter Meg McRee and the arrival of the couple’s first child. On songs like the guitar-driven title track\, Chapman mixes Pink Floyd atmosphere with Crazy Horse crunch\, showcasing the full spread of his musical influences. Elsewhere\, he tips his hat to his southern roots with the laidback\, loping “Out in the Country” and the Stax-sized soul ballad “Missing You.” Produced by Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Anderson East\, Feet on Fire captures Ben Chapman as we’ve never heard him before: his back against the wall and his heart full\, determined not only to meet the challenges up ahead\, but to write about the process\, too
