Born and schooled in Paris\, the couple launched a nomadic romance fueled by music that would later see them crooning in New York jazz clubs\, then wading the swampy waters of American DIY art rock in Gainesville\, Florida. \nToday in L.A.\, the band’s evolving sound complements a buoyant moment in a scene where their brand of space-age jazz-pop is more than welcome. \nJuliette Pearl Davis and Joachim Polack met on the first day of high school in Paris — both music-obsessed\, nerdy\, and drawn together by a “poetic connection” and mutual heroes like Burt Bacharach\, Kurt Weill\, and especially\, Antônio Carlos Jobim. “It’s very French of us to be into Brazil\, but like\, 1960s-French\,” said Joachim. “When we were kids\, it wasn’t that cool.” \nAt college\, pursuing musicology degrees at the Sorbonne\, a romantic connection emerged. Today\, Juliette and Joachim’s shared journey gifts listeners with a rare experience in pop music — the output of a near-telepathic musical language grown over decades of 24/7 connection and collaboration. But back in school\, each struggled for the respect of their academic music mentors. Of Joachim\, Juliette said “You were studying classical composition in the conservatory where Debussy and Ravel were schooled. Jose Urquiza [vocals]\, Alex Frew [guitar]\, Neil Kuhlman [guitar]\, Justin Taylor [guitar]\, Dex Digga [bass]\, Alex Raser [Drums] dispense honest hard rock that’s equally hypnotic and heavy. \n3YH has been on the Rockstar Uproar tour and shared the stage with the likes of Godsmack\, Sevendust\, Papa Roach\, In This Moment\, Avatar\, Red\, Nonpoint\, Gemini Syndrome\, and many others. \nOver the past decade\, the group has solidified itself as one of the Midwest’s most incendiary and infectious young acts. Their breakout independent single “Remember” charted at #1 on Octane\, while “Chemical Ride” eclipsed 1 Million YouTube views. In 2014\, 3 Years Hollow supported The Cracks (Imagen Records) with three (3) singles\, all which cracked the Active Rock Top 40 chart and the Billboard Mainstream Rock Top 40 chart. \nDecember 2021 brings new music with the single “Breaking Sound” through Imagen Records (ADA/Warner Music). “The song ‘Breaking Sound’ is the most recent song we’ve written as a group and I’m definitely looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks!” adds Jose. The band was mostly quiet for its first year of existence\, avoiding live performances to instead focus on their brazen debut ‘Motherfucker\, I am Both: “Amen” and “Hallelujah”…’ The record retains Sprain’s characteristic commitment to intensity\, further mutated through a newfound lens of collagist approach. Featuring only a single\, hour-plus-long song\, Motherfucker is a demanding exhibition of uncompromising ethos.
